My insurance career began in 1990 at Unum in Portland, Maine. I started as a group insurance underwriter, and in 1993, Unum moved me to a sales job in Western Massachusetts. A position that I thought would last a “few years”, turned into much more.
I always wanted to start a business, and I left Unum to sell group insurance on my own. I met Cheryl at the MassMutual agency in Springfield. She had plenty of contacts, but didn’t know much about group life and disability insurance. I had no contacts, but my skill set complimented Cheryl’s. One day in 2002, Cheryl asked if I wanted to work with her on a large employer’s life and disability insurance plan. We sold the account, and MillBrook Benefits was born.
What I love about this business is the ability to spend the day talking to people. We have the satisfaction of helping them solve problems. We value the relationships we develop with our clients, and we’re passionate about helping them and their employees.
I earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont. I am a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist and a Chartered Financial Consultant. I also hold the National Association of Health Underwriters certification for the Affordable Care Act.
Outside of work, I enjoy anything I can do outdoors. This includes mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and nature photography. I love to travel. I trade FOREX for fun, and I’m also a catcher in the Quabbin Valley Over 30 Baseball League.
